First "real" drawing and a couple of photos

Katy drew her first real drawing for the pediatrician the other day. As part of her developmental screening, she was supposed to draw a circle, then an X, then a rectangle after being shown, but she opted to forego the rectangle for some stick people. (Rectangles are HARD to draw!) I had a BLAST watching her! She drew Mommy, Daddy, and Katy and then another Katy (I think just because it was small).

Kitchen backsplash ideas

Working on the kitchen backsplash. Can't decide between the darker, more traditional tile and the lighter travertine. I think I have my favorite, but won't say which for fear of swaying those who might want to offer opinions...

Opinions, anyone?

Oh...I also included a photo of the fireplace. Bryan build the mantle, did a crackle paint job, and place the tile tonight. It still needs to be grouted, but I think it will add a lot to that room.

Halloween

It's all about the Princesses this year....Katy had to try on several Princess costumes before deciding on the Cinderella costume. It was rather irritating, but still pretty cute! This impromptu photo shoot was on the front porch, right before trick-or-treating, at the Princess' request....
