Zeiss Winkel microscope

The previous homeowner found out that I am a veterinarian and left this microscope for me, nearly 4 years ago. I moved in immediately prior to my starting my residency, so I never even opened the box before tonight. Of course, I don't know anything about this scope, except that it lights and magnifies. Hoping to learn a little more, so I'm posting photos and will ask some questions on a microscopsy yahoo group website.

Getting out of trouble....

It seems like I spend my days moving in-and-out of trouble nowadays, *mostly* because I've been busy and unable to keep up w/ family obligations. I've been in trouble like forever w/ Aunt Tracy for not providing current photos of Katy, and Nana and Papa are a bit hacked about it too. Now, if we could get Pappy to go online, I would kill yet one more bird with this single stone. Oh well, if I weren't in trouble, I would likely be looking to get into some, so....

Here's goes: St. Patrick's Day photos of Katy. Just a few....

Here's a couple of photos for Mom and Dad.

Nearly finished

Here's a photo of the work in progress. The maple bench has been sanded and half of it has been stained, and the railing is nearly complete. One or two more days and this project will be finished, thankfully.

I like the way it looks so far.

Antique find

We went on a church pew/bench search today in Adamstown, PA, which has a TON of antique stores. It's a pretty amazing place, and I'm disappointed that it's taken me nearly three years to discover it. (Mom--we HAVE to plan a trip there sometime soon! It was tough w/ Katy and Bryan. Though they were troopers, it is definitely not fun for either of them.)

As for me, I was in heaven to find a perfect bench. I need to refinish it and mount it to the floor, but I think it will replace our handrail on the back porch just perfectly. If it doesn't work, the $65 cost isn't a great loss.

Have to use your imagination now, but I will post final photos when it's completed!

Sunroom/Den, version 2

Here's another post for Mom. What about with the church pew? (Imagine how it would look if I can find one that's longer and fits that width more precisely...)

New house project

This post is for Mom specifically, who wanted to see the project on our sunroom/den, which is still in progress (obviously!). More photos will follow once we're finished.
